What are the next steps if I am successful at my online assessment centre?

You will be informed by email within 15 working days of attending your online assessment centre.

You will receive a provisional offer pending successful completion of pre-employment checks and pending the availability of suitable vacancy locations.

Please ensure you follow further instructions from the recruitment centre regarding your pre-employment checks. Please refer to your invite email for guidance on which documents are acceptable or visit the ID Documents tab.

Two pre-employment checks required

Your pre-employment checks include Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) Enhanced Level 2 vetting and police vetting (Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 2) as access to the multi-agency ViSOR system will be required as part of these posts.

Please note that as you will be going through two types of pre-employment checks you will need to complete two separate forms, which may at times ask for the same information.

It is imperative you complete both forms.

Once you have accepted your provisional offer you will receive an onboarding form to commence the Enhanced Level 2 vetting via email, this needs to be fully completed as soon as possible.

Upon successful completion of the onboarding form for the Enhanced Level 2 usually within 4 working days you will receive two emails relating to the Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 2, one with the login details and one with a link to the portal where you will complete your application.

Proof that you have been a resident in the UK for the last 3 years is required in order to complete the NPPV2 vetting process. If you have been out of the country for a significant period of time (usually up to one year) and maintained your UK residency you may still be considered for vetting clearance. For further information please see section 6.4 of the APP Vetting document.

Allocations of successful candidates for the forthcoming intake will be undertaken once all online assessment centres have been completed. You will be notified of your location in due course. If you accept your location and successfully pass pre-employment checks, you will receive a contract of employment for the forthcoming intake. It is important that you complete and return all your pre-employment vetting forms as soon as possible, should you receive a location offer we will only be able to provide a contract if the pre-employment checks are successfully completed.

You will also be contacted separately by the relevant university regarding which programme length (15 or 21 month) you will be placed on.

PQiP placement locations are determined by business need and if it is not possible to place you at a suitable vacancy location during this intake, you will remain on the merit list for 12 months from the date of your online assessment centre.

Your application will be carried forward to the next intake, although a placement in your location cannot be guaranteed.
